Within and around Manchester airport there are lots of good places to spot planes here are the best ones.

SPOT 1

End of the Runway 23R (Ringway Road/Shadowmoss Road) this is good because you are right under the landing path of the planes if they are going in that way. this gives you and easy photo opotunity for those who dont have the best of camares and in this spot you don't need your binoculars to spot from this point.

SPOT 2

Aviation Viewing Park is good for catching planes because depending which way they go in and out you can get them landing and taking off. The prices are

£3 for 1 hour, £6 for 2 hours, £9 for 3 hours and £12 for 3+ hours

SPOT 3

Terminal 1 Multistory car park on floor 13 is a great place to spot from because there is a great view of terminal 2 and parts of terminal 1 there are great photo opportunity and easy to spot from.

SPOT 4

Terminal 3 Multistory car park has great opportunity's because after 11/12 o'clock the planes stop using 23L to take off and taxi right in front of you when using 23R to take off. this is also good for landing planes on 23R because the runway is right in front of you.

SPOT 5

The airport hotel has good photo opportunity's and you don't need to take your binoculars for landings and you can just catch the taxi's on 23R but for this you will need you binoculars. this pub/hotel is situated on ringway road heading towards the terminals.

SPOT 6

The mound. This is a great place to spot because it give's you great photo oppotunitys and is easy to spot when planes are using 05L and when plans are using the seccond runway awell. The only problem is that between 10am and 3pm they change to using the single runway. The best time to use he mound is if they are useing the 23L in the morning. to get to the mound there is a holiday inn on the A538 on altrincham road there is a side road you can park there and just up the road is a footpath follow this and and you reach the side of the runway.

SPOT 7

Mound 2 heading down from heald green go up to style road past ringway road and when you see the sign for the long stay car park turn right and go down that road and go past the car park and follow the rough road round and you will find a hill you can spot from here. At this spot you have great photo opotunitys and easy to spot with your binoculars.
